Kevin "Tiny" Schleisman
(September 18, 1965 - July 1, 2024)

Kevin Schleisman, age 58 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA surrounded by his family. Kevin Craig Schleisman was born on September 18, 1965, to parents Kenneth and Sharyn (Schlitter) Schleisman. He grew up in Lake City where he graduated from Lake City High School. He continued his education at Lincoln Tech in Des Moines, IA. On October 15, 1988, Kevin was united in marriage to Melodie Ann Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Kevin worked several years for Bowie International and the Coop. In December of 1999, he got a job as a county maintainer for secondary roads. Kevin loved antique John Deere tractors. He spent many years restoring tractors with his father, father-in-law, and friends. Kevin was a member of the Iowa Central Antique Pullers and participated in many tractor pulls. One of Kevin’s favorite activities was being a volunteer fireman for the city of Lake City. He loved his shop cats, especially Spanky, Suzy Q, Goofy, Dittles, Rudy, Sweet P, and even a couple of the house cats, Ty, Fuz, and Lucy. Although his time was short, Kevin made a big impact on many lives and will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 35 years Melodie Schleisman of Lake City, IA; sisters: Kari (Thadd) Ellis of Waukee, IA, and Kelly (Michael) Sullivan of Buffalo Grove, IL; mother-in-law Doris Johnson of Lake City, IA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Sharyn Schleisman and father-in-law Donald Wayne Johnson. He was loved by many and liked by all. We say farewell to one so loved and never to be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Lake City Fire Department.
