Shirley Anne Beckman age 88 of Lake City, Iowa passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Accura HealthCare of Lake City. Shirley Anne Campbell was born to Dave and Maye Campbell in Defiance Iowa on November 29, 1935. She was blessed with a wonderful family of her parents, 1 younger sister Joan, and 2 younger brothers Lee and Dan. She attended school in Odebolt, Wall Lake, Lewis, and Lake City. She received her registered nurse degree from Methodist Hospital in Sioux City Iowa. She practiced the profession of nursing for 50 years in the roles of physician office nurse, hospital staff nurse, house supervisor, and nurse manager. She started the school nurse program in the Lake City Community Schools and served there for 18 years. She had the opportunity to touch the lives of many children in the community. She was active in the Lake City community in various organizations including the Lake City Alumni Association, Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of the Library Board, Lake City Union Church, Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Board, Chapter BO PEO, and the Yetter Centennial Committee. She received the Iowa Governor Volunteer Award in 1987. She has been blessed with many wonderful friends and a wonderful family. Her daughter Lori Fernandes, husband Rick, their sons Nick (Caitlin) and Dan, and Nick and Caitlin’s son Jack. Her son Mike Beckman, his wife Linda, and his children Lauren and Chris (Stefanie). Her daughter Nanci Beckman, her son Alex Krull (Lindsay), and their children Jude and Ian. A highlight of her life has been her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brother Dan. She was preceded in death by her father Dave, Mother Maye, her sister Joan, her brother Lee, and granddaughter Lauren. She leaves a love of music, learning, enjoying nature, and the warmth of family. The Memorial Service is at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Lake City Union Church with a visitation 1 hour before the service.
