Michael John Parker
(October 16, 1942 - September 5, 2024)Michael Parker, age 81 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Accura HealthCare in Lake City, IA. Michael John was born on October 16, 1942, at the McVey Hospital in Lake City, Iowa to parents Stanley and Esther (Pratt) Parker. He attended school and graduated from Lohrville High School class of 1961. Michael was inducted into the United States Army on December 27, 1966, during the Vietnam War. He served overseas in Germany and Vietnam and returned home on December 19, 1969. In 1963 Michael was united in marriage to Bonnie Seaberg and were blessed with 2 children Dawn and Scott. They later divorced. He then married Hope Seaberg in 1989 and she passed away in 1992. Mick met Martha Jo Boner while trucking and fell in love, they married on October 16, 1993, in Des Moines, Iowa before making their home in Lake City. Mick worked as an over-the-road truck driver for Hunts, Umthun, and most recently Decker Truck Line. He retired from trucking in 1994 and spent years traveling and camping spending 16 years wintering at the J-5 RV park in Texas with his wife Marty. In his younger years, he had a passion for motorcycles, enjoyed working on tractors, and spent time with his horses. Those left to cherish his memory include his Wife Marty Parker of Lake City; Children: Dawn (John) Carner of Alton, MO, Scott Parker of Rockwell City; Grandchildren: Kayla (Matt) Barton, Courtney (Kevin) Stewart, Nicole (Colin) Swinford, Natasha (Mike) Barton; 11 Great-Grandchildren; and Siblings: Dora Lee Souder of Bemidji MN, Linda Lou Hay of Republic, MO, Jane (Phil) Cline of Lohrville, IA, Arthur (Rebecca) Parker of Lake City, IA.
