Kathy S. Holm, age 55, of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Kathleen Sue Luton was born February 21, 1969, in San Diego, California, to parents James Luton and Doretha Clem. Kathy attended San Diego Schools and moved to Alaska at a young age. She returned to California, then to Iowa where her children were born: Stephanie, Haley, and Keith. Kathy had several jobs over the years, mostly in advertising, having worked for the Fort Dodge Messenger. Kathy and her family moved to Alaska in 2008 but returned to Lake City shortly after where she settled. Kathy loved to cook and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed the time with her grandbabies, her sister, and her dog, Trump. She also enjoyed fishing, especially at her brother's resort on the Kenai Peninsula. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stephanie (Jacob Pelong) Sistrunk of Pomeroy, Haley (Jobi) Gorden of Lake City, Keith Holm of Lake City, and Kelsey (Cole) Golay of Coon Rapids; grandchildren, Teck, Lane, Simon, Marshall and Mathew, Alexa, Hayden, Kobee, and Christopher, Jonah, Thomas, and Braylee Stringer; sisters, Joann Luton of Lake City and Iris (Kent) Korzon of Alaska; brother, Mike Luton of Alaska, and step-father, Paul Simenstad of Alaska. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; her longtime companion, Keith Peters; her brother, Tommy Luton, and stepmother, Cheryl Luton-Simenstad.
