After a long and painful illness Mrs. Nils Iverson died at her home in Alta on Tuesday of last week, August 16th. Mrs. Iverson had been ill almost continuously since she moved to town eleven months ago, and her death was not unexpected.
Anna Peterson was born in Yding, Jutland, Denmark on the 12th day of June, 1843. On October 24, 1862 she was married to Nils Iverson and in 1882 the family emigrated to the United States. Shortly after their arrival here they bought a farm eight and a half miles north of Alta, and here the children were reared and the family resided until Mr and Mrs. Iverson, alone at home, moved to town. At the time of death she was 78 years, two months and four days of age. Six children were born to Mr and Mrs. Iverson, of whom one Mrs. G Beyer, died some time ago; the survivors are: Peter Iverson of Windom, Minnesota; George Iverson of Clay county, Iowa; Soren Iverson of Donnybrook, North Dakota; Alfred Iverson, of this county and Mrs. Jens Jensen of Schaller. Mrs. Iverson was a member of the Congregation of God, having been converted many years ago.
The funeral was held from the late home on Thursday and after a brief service there the funeral party proceeded to the Baptist church in Elk where Jens Miller and Rev N. C. Carstensen were in charge. Interment was in Elk cemetery.
Mr. Iverson is not in the best of health and he will probably make his home with one of his children for the present at least.
