Laverne Ray Kaune, 46, died Thursday morning, Dec. 2, 1993, in Mercy Hospital, Oelwein, after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; a son, Clint, and a daughter, Teresa, both of Hazleton; three brothers, Marvin of Fayette, Steve of Oelwein and Daryl of Oran; and three sisters, Lois Schlatter of Grinnell, Marilyn Darland of Iowa Falls and Joann Drewes of Forest City.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein, by the Rev. Robert Dagit. Burial: Floral Hills Cemetery, Hazleton. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and one hour before service time Saturday at the church.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
