Jessie B. Carson, 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in Peoples Long Term Care Center, Independence, after a long illness.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon; a daughter, Doris (Mrs. Glen) Garetson of Center Point; two sons, Roger (Bonnie) Carson of Hazleton and Dennis (Marge) Carson of Marion; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Gushee of Aurora; and three sisters, Mardella Miller and Lucille Holland, both of California, and Darlene Kivel of Aurora.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Quasqueton Union Church, by Pastor Paul Drake. Burial: Quasqueton Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Quasqueton.

A memorial fund for Hospice of Buchanan County has been established.
