Joseph Miller, 95, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at East Towne Care Center, Independence.

Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Gaffney (Lloyd Bergfeld) of Hazleton, Patricia (Richard) Decker of Maquoketa, Kathleen Steinocher of Tyler, Texas and Carolyn Miller of Waterloo; one son, Lyle (Nancy) Miller of Oelwein; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one stepbrother, Noah Miller of Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Dixie DeWald and Delores DeWald; and two brothers-in-law, Kermit Chesmore and Warren Nichols.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Grace United Methodist Church, Lamont. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the Lamont American Legion.

Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. today at Fawcett Funeral Home, 745 Washington St. (Methodist Church), in Lamont and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
