CLARK-HOOP WEDDING

A wedding of special interest to many Madrid and Slater friends, was that of Miss Hazel Hoop, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Hoop of this city, to Mr. Ralph Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clark of Slater. The wedding took place at the bride's home Thursday, February 14th, and the ceremony was read at 8 o'clock, by the Rev. Clarence Defur, pastor of the Christian church of Madrid, using the single ring ceremony. The couple were unattended. The bride was attired in a gown of orchid satin, and carried a bouquet of roses. Only the immediate members of the two families were present.
The rooms of the Hoop home were artistically decorated in keeping with St. Valentine's day, and a large bouquet of American Beauty roses wafted fragrance in the room.
Following congratulations a two course luncheon was served, supervised by the bride's mother, assisted by Mrs. Charles Hoop.
The bride has grown to young womanhood in this community and attended the public and high schools of Madrid, graduating with the class of 1925. She has been employed as one of the operators in the telephone office here for the past three years.
Mr. Clark attended the Slater school, from which he graduated in 1923. He finished a course in buttermaking at the Iowa State College, Ames, and has since been associated with his father in the operation of the Slater creamery.
Both are worthy young people and their many friends join in extending heartiest congratulations and best wishes for a life full of happiness and joy.
