Found the following information in the Wells Township-Appanoose County, IA Cemetery Book published in the 1980s by the App. Co. Genealogical Society:

Hilltown Cemetery-located in Section 16 of Wells Township

Row 6

TOOPES: Luther June 13, 1890-March 19,1927 age 36y,3m,6d

TOOPES: Leonard I. Feb. 28, 1860-Feb. 22, 1927 age 67y, 11m, 28d (I notice the birth date listed for him is different than yours, but the stone might have been hard to read, etc.)

There was no listing for your Sarah Kate C. Thompson Toopes.
