Well, I'm making a little progress on this. I did find out that the marriage records for Mt. Sterling, Mongomery county, Kentucky were destroyed by Union forces during the civil war. So I can't find a marriage certificate for Hazelwood Hughes and Mary Everman. I am really trying to link Hazelwood to his father Peter but can't seem to find info to do so. The only Peter Hughes I can find who served in the Revolutionary War was born in about 1762, applied for a pension in 1832(#W7823), had married a Lucy Blevins in 1787 and had a lot of children. He was listed in the census of 1830 and 1840 in Sullivan county, Tennesee, but returned to virginia to live with a son and died there in about 1849. Since Hazelwood was born in 1809 that would have made this particular Peter Hughes about 47 when Hazelwood was born-not out of the question if he had a younger or second wife or if the first wife was still producing children. Sure would like to find out more about Peter Hughes(&Lucy Blevins) to see if they did indeed have a son named Hazelwood. Thanks again for your interest and help.
