Had posted the following message a year ago, but now have a different e-mail address. The message:
I'm looking for information on the family of Thomas Powers (b.1825 in Madison Co. Ohio)and Mary A. M. Barron Powers (b. VT). Thomas and Mary Powers came to Appanoose County in 1849 or 1850. They had a family of 11 sons and 1 daughter born between 1849 and 1874. Mary died in 1882; Thomas in 1900. Both are buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. I'm specifically looking for information on the family of one of Thomas' sons who stayed in the Appanoose county area: Emmett Almond Powers. Emmett was born 16 Jun 1867. He married Myra Jennings 13 Nov 1892. I know of two children, Lucille Loretta Powers (b. abt 1868) and Edna Powers, (b. abt 1902. Emmett lived in the Moulton area. I'm trying to find out when he died, where he is buried and more about his children. My grandfather, Robert Frank Powers, was one of Emmett's brothers. Also interested in finding and making contact with any Powers in Appanoose county who are related to the Thomas Powers family.Ron Powers
