Ruth F. Klein, 80, of 130 Bowling St. SW, died Thursday, July 6, 1995, in Mercy Medical Center after a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Calvin-Sinclair Presbyterian Church, by the Revs, Susan and Jerry McGeegan - Guinn. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Turner Chapel East and after noon Monday at the church.
Survivors include her husband Lawrance; two sons, Ronald and wife Betty of Cedar Rapids and Dale and wife Uva of Center Point; a daughter, Sharon Pliester and husband Don of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Harlan Martens of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Mildred Krousie of Waukon, Eileen Klein and Shirley Marsden, both of Cedar Rapids, and Marian Thornton of Postville; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Minnie Martens; and three brothers, Calvin, Milton, and Vernon Martens.
Born October 20, 1914, in Waukon, she married Lawrence Klein on June 9, 1936, in Castalia. Ruth worked for Wilson's Foods and was a member of Calvin-Sinclair Presbyterian Church.
A memorial fund has been established.
