Albert Eno, son of Harvey and Esther Sheldon Eno of Carl, Iowa, was born January 16, 1874 and died at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, November 1, 1933, aged 59 years, 9 months, 15 days. Mr. Eno had been in poor health for about three years, and went to Iowa City hoping to find relief, but grew weaker until the final summons came. Funeral services were held from the Corning Baptist Church Friday, November 3, conducted by Rev. L. W. Verts, pastor of the church. Interment was made in the Forest Hill Cemetery at Adams County First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Eno was married to Miss Gertrude Beckwith at Carl, Iowa, May 17, 1895. Three children were born to this union, one dying in infancy and one daughter died at the age of 18 months. One living son, Harvey Eno, lives in Corning. He is survived by his widow; his son; one grandson; also three living brothers, Edward Eno of Durango, Colorado; Howard Eno of Sharpsburg, Iowa; and James Eno of Prescott, Iowa; three sisters, Nettie Drake of Nevada, Missouri, Mrs. Homer Ray of Kent, Iowa, and Mrs. Emma Morrison of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and a half brother, William Moores of Long Beach, California. One brother, Joe Eno, preceded him in death. There are many other relatives and friends who will miss his friendly smile and congenial sprint.
Mr. Eno lived his whole life in Adams County and has been a resident of Corning for 34 years, with the exception of two years spent at Carbon. He has been engaged in business of various kinds and was highly respected as a business man and citizen of a fine type. He was a member of the Woodman of World Lodge.
