I'm hoping another researcher knows Elise Catharina Brehm, born October 29, 1851 in Rotenburg/Fulda-Altstadt, Hesse/Germany - any information is appreciated. Who did she marry? Did she stay in Lansing or where did she go?
Elise & her brother, Jacob Brehm, were children of Heinrich & Anna Martha (Barthel) Brehm. The siblings immigrated to the U.S. aboard the vessel Donau from the port of Bremen to New York. They arrived in NY on April 26, 1869. The ship passenger list: Elise Brehm from Rotenburg, age 17, and her brother (Jacob) Heinrich Brehm, from Rotenburg, occupation farmer, age 15.
Jacob is on the 1880 census, living in Lansing twp., Allamakee co. He was living alone, and unmarried. Elise is not found on the 1880 census - she may have already married, or perhaps died?
Jacob Brehm later removed to Minnesota, and was one of the first settlers in Irvine township, Houston co. MN. He married Johanna Dorothea Barenscher in Eitzen, Houston co. MN on 03/01/1887. He & Dorothy later removed to Churchs Ferry, Ramsey co. North Dakota where they raised a large family.
Elise & Jacob had two brothers who remained in Germany. One of them, Martin Heinrich Brehm, went to American (possibly in 1894), but returned to Germany soon after. Family lore is that he'd shot a horse or cow in the neighbor's farmyard. Martin was born in 1869 and died in Germany in 1905, leaving no family.

Christoph's siblings were Elise & Jacob who immigrated to the U.S. in 1869. Interested researchers can contact Sandra at the email address shown for her in the Surname Registry for Brehm. Sandra lives in Germany.
