IN UNIFORM
Pvt. Sophia M. Skuya, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Zebas, 721 Fowler street, was sworn into the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) under the purple heart recruiting program. She will be trained as a member of the Second platoon of Iowa women to care for the battle wounded at Schick General Hospital in Clinton, Ia. Her two brothers, Pfc. Anton Skuya of the Marine Corps and Pfc. John Skuya of the Army are both serving in the South Pacific.
