Irish Patriotism
There's no day like St. Patrick's day for an Irish girl to show her patriotism, so Miss Dorothy A. Ryburn, 20, of 721 Penn ave., enlisted in the WAC Friday.
Miss Ryburn has a brother, Pvt. Clayton Ryburn, a radio specialist in overseas service and she has visions of joining her "fighting Irish" brother.
She is employed as a long distance operator by the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and was graduated from East High school in 1942. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Ryburn, both are Irish. Miss Ryburn will be called to active duty next Wednesday.

Des Moines in the Service
Pvt. Dorothy A. Ryburn, daughter of Mrs. Lillie A. Ryburn, 721 Pennsylvania ave., has left the WAC training center at Fort Des Moines for duty with the army at Selfridge Field, Mich.
