Former Griswold Girl in Training for Job
as Ferry Command Pilot

GRISWOLD – Miss Maurine Robinson of Omaha, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Robinson of Griswold, made her first flight Sunday at the Omaha air base where she is taking her basic training. Miss Robinson has passed her tests and now has a pilot’s license. After completing her training at the Omaha base her intentions are to enlist in the women’s army airforce. Then she will be sent to Avenger Field, Sweetwater, Texas, where she will complete her training as a ferry command pilot. Miss Robinson, who is employed at the Martin bomber plant in Omaha, will continue her work until she has her 35 hours flying time. Her instructor at Omaha field is Freddy Clark, a former Griswold boy.
