Auxiliary Mary Eva Porter, formerly of 640 Fifty-fifth st. has been transferred from the WAAC training center here and ordered to recruiting duty at Omaha, Neb.

Second Lieutenant Mary Eva Porter of Des Moines has been assigned Company work at Camp Davis, North Carolina, according to Capt. Wolcott. Lt. Porter completed her training at Fort Des Moines May 23, 1943.

Visiting Volberdings
T. Sgt Howard Porter of McDill Field, Tampa, Fla., and his wife, Lt. Mary Eva Porter of Camp Davis, N.C., came June 7 to visit until June 15 at the home of Lt. Mary Eva's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H Volberding.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Volberding, of near Humboldt, received word from their daughter, Lt. Mary Eva Porter, that she is much better and has been dismissed from the hospital. Lt. Porter has been a patient in a North Carolina army hospital, suffering from pneumonia.
