Navy Gets 5 Waves
Qualifying for enlistment at the Cedar Rapids navy recruiting office were: Elaine Joy Nunnally, 1735 C avenue NE; Rachel Obrosk, 415 Eight street SE; Hollis Hope Schallau, Grinnell; Martha Howe, Tipton; and Betty Jean Stuart, Iowa City.

Elaine Joy Nunnally, storekeeper third class, is now stationed at the U.S. naval hospital in Seattle, Wash., where she is assigned to the offices of disbursement. Following her boot training at Hunter college in New York City she was transferred to the navy storekeepers school at the University of Indiana. During her course there she served as art editor on "The Key."
Miss Nunnally is the daughter of Mrs. Dora K. Nunnally, principal of the junior high school at Swisher, and niece of Capt. Chester H.J. Keppler, head of naval personnel at Harvard university. She is also the granddaughter of the late John J. Keppler, former commissioner and pioneer resident of Iowa City.
