MEN AND WOMEN IN SERVICE.
Mrs. Jack Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Black, 3308 Orleans avenue, has been commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army nurses corps, and is to report January 24 at the Lincoln Army air field, Lincoln, Neb. Her husband, Corporal Murphy, is stationed somewhere in England.

Two Sioux Cityans, Miss Catherine Hastings and Mrs. Mary Murphy and Miss Bernadette Meissner, Bode, Iowa, according to the war department dispatch, have been appointed second lieutenants in the army nurse corps. Both Miss Meissner and Mrs. Murphy were graduated from St. Vincent’s college for nurses in June, 1943. Miss Hastings was graduated from St. Joseph’s nursing college.
