WAVE of the Day
Miss Frances Murdock, 2108 Myrtle street, has enlisted in the WAVES. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Kistler, reside in Reynold, Ill.
Prior to her enlistment, Frances was employed at the W.G. Block Coal Co. and is now waiting for her assignment in the WAVES.

Miss Murdock Of WAVES IS Visiting At Buffalo Prairie
Buffalo Prairie -- Miss France Murdock, storekeeper 3-c is home on a 10 day leave. She took boot training with the WAVES at Hunter college in New York and was chosen to attend school at Milledgeville, Ga., where she received a petty officers' rating last June and is now stationed at the largest naval supply depot in the world at Mechanicsburg, Pa.

To Be Bride Wednesday, Dec. 18
Announcement is made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Frances LaJune Murdock, 522 East Thirtieth street, Davenport, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Kistler, Reynolds, Ill., to Frank L. Burgess, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Burgess, San Francisco, Calif.
Miss Murdock, who is a graduate of Reynolds high school, was employed in Davenport before her enlistment in the WAVES, with which she served for 19 months prior to her discharge last May. She is now employed here by the U.S. Bureau of Census.
Mr. Burgess, who was graduated from a San Francisco high school, served in the navy for 30 months before his discharge last April. Since that time he has been employed at the naval supply depot at Harrisburg, Pa.
