Pictured here are four young women who have volunteered to do their bit for Uncle Sam in the Waacs. Enlisted at the army recruiting station in the federal building by Sergeant H. J. Gossage, they are, left to right, Betty Ross Hollister, 1508 Nebraska Street; Margaret M. Mills, Argonaut Apartments; Joyce N. Anderson, 1901 Boies Street and Violette R. Hoag, 1014 Court Street. Auxiliaries Anderson and Hoag will report for induction Monday at Fort Des Moines. Auxiliaries Hollester and Mills will not be called until later.

Men And Women In Service

Auxiliary Mary M. Mills, former employee at Davidson Bros. store and now a member of Waacs, is stationed at March field, Riverside, California. Miss Mills entered the service March 12 and received basic training at Fort Des Moines.

Sioux City WAC Making Air Maps

One of the unusual jobs of war fell to Sergeant May Margaret Mills, formerly of Sioux City, who now is a member of the WAC. Sergeant Mills is a photo laboratory technician and has been engaged in map making for the air corps. She is visiting Sioux City briefly before reporting to Lowrey Field, Denver, Colo., for further training in air corps photography.
