Dorothy Margaret Miller Alberhasky was born Feb. 14, 1921 to Gustavo L. and Gertrude Strub Miller. She died June 15, 2010 and is buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.
Petty Officer Miller served with the U.S. Navy WAVES in World War II. She was married to Donald Dean “Gil” Alberhasky.
Command Sgt. Maj. Alberhasky served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the 136th Medical Regiment in Ireland and England and Africa where he became a member of the 3rd Division, 30th Infantry and fought in the African and Sicilian campaigns. He was also part of the Anzio Beachhead landing and fought in Po Valley. After discharge from active service he enlisted in the 34th Recon Co., IA Air National Guard, serving continuously in the Guard until 1982 when he finished his career as the highest ranking non-commissioned officer, CSM, of the 109th Medical Battalion.
