Des Moines in the Services
Five Des Moines women have completed basic training and indoctrination course at the naval training school for WAVES, The Bronx, N. Y., and have received orders to various naval establishments throughout the nation. They are:
Dolores Anne Gay, seaman, second class, of 1434 Twenty-fourth st., to the yeoman school at Cedar Falls, Ia.
Elizabeth Anne Nemmers, hospital apprentice, second class daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Nemmers, 3916 Tenth st, the naval hospital, St Albans, N.Y.
Mary Margaret McMichael, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry McMichael, 3223 Third st., to Atlanta, Ga., the Link instructor school.
Frances M. Stack, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Miller, jr., 1814 Tenth st. to Atlanta, Ga., Link trainer school. Her husband, J.J. Stack is in France.
Mary Allice Smyth, seaman, second class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Smyth, 2503 High st., to the naval hospital, St Albans, N.Y.
