WOMEN IN SERVICE
Miss Jean Livingston, daughter of Prof. and Mrs. W. Ross Livingston, 1025 Woodlawn, will arrive in Iowa City tonight from Atlanta, Ga., where she has been serving as a Link trainer at the advanced naval air corps base. Miss Livingston has been made a member of the Women's Auxiliary Ferrying corps and will report to duty at Ft. Worth, Texas, March 11.
A graduate of University high school, Miss Livingston received her degree from the university last May. She is a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Miss Livingston received her pilots license in the summer of 1940 following a CPT course at the local airport.

WOMEN IN SERVICE
According to a dispatch from Avenger Field at Sweetwater, Texas, Miss Jean Livingston was among the women pilots receiving silver wings following completion of a six months training course. Saturday's graduation ceremony was the first since official designation of the army's women flyers as "WASP" (women''s airforce service pilots) The graduates, who will retain their civilian status, will now begin active non-combat flying duty for the air force.
Miss Livingston, the daughter of Prof. and Mrs W. Ross Livingston, attended Iowa City high school and the University of Iowa, where she was graduated in 1942. Prior to her training at Sweetwater she was a link trainer instructor at the U/S/ naval air station at Atlanta, Ga.

Back on Campus After War Service
Iowa City, IA -- Young women who have been serving their nation at war are beginning to renew thier education work at the State University of Iowa following discharge from the service.

Another not receiving government aid is Jean Livingston of Iowa City, who as a WASP does not qualify for the veteran's status.
Her job for a year and a half was ferrying planes from a station in Michigan, after she had taken civilian pilot training as a hobby. A university graduate, she is taking law.
