Mrs. Phyllis Kynett

 

 

PHYLLIS KYNETT JOINS WAACS

Mrs. Phyllis Kynett, an employee of the Security Fire Insurance Co, was sworn into the WAACs in Des Moines April 1 and is awaiting call to duty. She has been active in the drama department and the home and community department of the Davenport Women's club.

Her husband, an officer in the last war and a member of the army of the occupation in Germany, is an invalid confined in the Hines hospital near Chicago.

Mrs. Kynett's Davenport address is 317 Third street. She was honored at a party in East Moline given by Mrs. Joseph Little and Mrs. Gladys Petersen and she's been invited to several more farewell parties this week.

START TRAINING -- Leah Blythe, 1431 1/2 Bridge avenue, and Phyllis Kynett, 111 Perry street, left today for Des Moines, Ia., where they will start their basic training in the WAACS. They were accompanied by Miss Catherine and Miss Elizabeth Coughlin, 1221 Scott street, who will also start their training. The girls were recruited the Davenport office of the WAACS located in the postoffice building under the direction of Third Officer Margaret Murray.

Pvt. Phyllis Kynett Of WACs Stationed At Fort Sheridan

Pvt. Phyllis L. Kynett of the Women's Army Corps has been assigned to the Sixth Service Command training and reassignment center at Fort Sheridan, Ill.

Pvt. Kynett, who is the wife of Donald Kynett, 1111 Perry street, recently completed her basic training at Ft Des Moines.
