TWO IOWA CITY WOMEN TO SERVE IN WAAC SCHOOL

Iowa City, Ia. -- Dolores D. Hess, 515 South Dodge street, and Alyce E Husa, 325 Fairchild street, have been selected to attend the officer training school at the Ft. Des Moines WAAC training center.

More than Half of Iowa WACs Have Immediate Kin in Service

Des Moines - More than 50 per cent of Iowa women serving in the Women's Auxiliary corps come from families which has at least one other member on the service.

First Lieut. Dolores D. Hess of Iowa City is following her civilian profession in the army. A teacher of home economics following her graduation from the University of Iowa in 1941, she is now assistant chief of the dietetics branch at Winter general hospital in Topeka, Kan. She has also been mess and supply officer at Ft. Francis E. Warren, Wyo. Her father, Robert W. Hess, was stationed at Camp Grant, Ill. during World War I. Her two brothers are also in service, Robert L. Hess, an ensign in the navy and Clement J Hess, a lieutenant in the army.
