Hazelton -- Mr. and Mrs. Herb Hayes received word of the safe arrival of their daughter, Lt. Elizabeth Hayes, in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is in the army nurses' corps.

Elizabeth Jane Hayes Threadgill was born Feb. 4, 1921 to Herbert Morton and Ada Mae Smith Hayes. She died July 27, 2015 and is buried in Eddy Cemetery, Falls County, TX.
1st Lt. Hayes served in World War II with the U.S. Army Nurse Corps 129th Evacuation Hospital. She was married to Thomas Benton Threadgill. Pvt. Threadgill served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
