QUAD-CITY RECRUITS FOR WAVES - Pictures are 22 of 30 girls of this community who will leave Wednesday for Chicago, there to join others of this Ninth naval district who will report at the United States naval training school at Hunter college, New York for their indoctrination course. This group is composed of girls who have enlisted since Jan. 1.

Jean M. Hall, Ma M 2/c of the WAVES, departed Tuesday for the west coast after spending a 15-day leave at her home here. She is the daughter of Mrs. Margaret G. Hall, 124 West Thirteenth street, and is a former proofreader on The Democrat.
Miss Hall has been 16 months in service. She received her training at Hunter college, New York, and at the Navy Postal school at Sampson, NY. She is now stationed at the fleet post office in San Francisco.
