BRANDON MARINE IS VISITING PARENTS
Brandon, Ia. -- Cpl. Hazel Griffith of the marine corps is spending a furlough with her cousin, Mrs. Robert Lufkin, Waterloo and her parents, Mr. and Mrs James L. Griffith, who recently completed training in the parachute material school at Lakehurst, N. J. is en route to her new assignment at Cherry Point, N.C. Her brother, James F. Griffith seaman third class is on sea duty.

Brandon -- Sgt. Hazel M. Griffith of the U.S. marines, is a parachute rigger stationed at Cherry Point, N.C. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Griffith, living near Brandon, she was graduated from Jesup consolidated school in 1940 and taught in a rural school in Buchanan county before her induction. A brother James E., soundman second class, is in the navy.

ORCHIDS FROM HAWAII
Brandon, Ia. -- Mrs. James L. Griffith, Route 1, received a lei of baby orchids from Hawaii from her daughter, Sgt. Hazel M. Griffith, of the Spars, who is a parachute rigger stationed there.
