NURSE JOINS NAVY CORPS

Miss Ellen Gehringer, 1212 Fifth st., has been sworn into the navy nursing corps as an ensign and will leave Tuesday for Mare Island, Cal.

Miss Gehringer, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gehringer of St. Mary's, Ia. was graduated form the Mercy hospital school of nursing last fall and has been working at the hospital since then.

Mr. and Mrs. John Gehringer of St. Mary's, Ia., announce the secret marriage of their daughter, Ensign Ellen Gehringer, to Lieut (j.g.) Thomas J. Lennon, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Lennon of New York City, which took place Aug 20. at St. Peter's chapel on Mare Island, Cal., with Lieut. J.J. Reikees, navy chaplain, officiating.

The bride, dressed in the navy nurses corps regulation whites, wore a corsage of orchids.

Ensign Mildred Amsigner of the navy nurses corps in uniform with a corsage of pink camellias, was maid of honor. Lieut. (j.g.) Charles Wong was best man.

Mrs. Lennon is graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and is now in the naval nurses corps.

Lieutenant Lennon is graduate of Manhattan College of Christian Brothers in New York City, and was graduated from the Midshipman school in new York.

The couple is residing temporarily at Chancellor hotel, San Francisco.
