Ensign Bernice Friedman Leaves For San Diego
Miss Bernice Friedman, who was sworn into the naval reserve nurse corps at Des Moines in June, left Sunday morning for San Diego, Calif., where she reports for duty as an ensign.
Ensign Friedman is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Friedman of Halbur. A graduate of St Anthony Hospital School of Nursing with the class of 1942, she has been on private nurse duty at the hospital since that time.
Miss Friedman was accompanied to San Diego by Miss Mary Frances Schaefer of Cincinnati, Ohio, also an ensign in the naval reserve nurse corps, whom she met at Chicago last week when both young women took their final examinations at Navy Pier. They had been with Miss Fiedman's parents since returning from Chicago.
