Postville's Representative in Navy Nurses' Corps

Postville's only officer in the Navy Nurses Corps is Ensign Margaret M. Cole, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harry Cole, of this city. At present she is stationed at the United States Naval Hospital at Sampson, New York.

Ensign Cole graduated from Postville high school in 1938, and later attended the nurses' school at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Dubuque from which she graduated last year. Later she was a nurse in the Cresco hospital and last spring enlisted in the Navy Nurses' Corps.

A new address for Ensign Margaret M. Cole, Nurses Corps, U.S.N.R., indicates she is now out of this country at Camp Parera, Curacao, Netherlands West Indies.

Lt. (j.g.) Margaret M. Cole, U.S.Navy Nurses Corps, stationed at Bethesda, Maryland, writes, "Just a note to thank you for getting the Postville Herald to me each week. I'd like this to be a request to continue getting it. I'd be lost without it. There is nothing special to report from this station. I am on night duty and as I sleep all day and don't do anything exciting outside of sleep, eat and work. Thanks again for the Herald, Bill. Sincerely, Margaret.

More Service People Get Their Discharges; Others On Way Out

Coles' On Way Out

Word comes to Dr. and Mrs. H.D. Cole, that their son, Chief Petty Officer Shafer Cole, and daughter, Lt. Margaret M. Cole, expect to be released from the Navy service and return home. Shafer, who served in the Pacific, is in charge of a group of veterans coming to the navy's separation center in Minneapolis, Minn., and expects to be home Thursday with his discharge all signed and sealed. Margaret is serving in the Navy hospital at Bethesda, Maryland, and thinks her discharge will come through by the 20th of this month.
