COUSIN IN WAVES
Enlisting in the WAVES at the Rock Island office this past week were Mrs. Selma Short Crandle, 1002 Seventeenth street, Rock Island and her cousin, Miss Alice Burns, Clinton, Ia. Sworn in at the same time, the cousins will leave for their "boot" training sometime in late December.
Mrs. Crandle's husband is a corporal in the air forces in England and her brother, Orville Short, is in the army stationed in Chicago. She is at present employed by the Bituminous Casualty Corp of Rock Island.
Miss Burns has two brothers, Richard and Harold, both serving in the navy in the Pacific area.
