Eight more Iowa women were sworn in Saturday as auxiliaries (privates) in the women's army auxiliary corps at Des Moines army recruiting offices. They were:
Miss Esther Patterson, 30, a laboratory technician, of 2540 Des Moines st; Miss Nina Talbott, 25, of 2131 Cottage Grove ave; Pauline Giannoble, 24, a photograph printers, of 2900 S.W. Ninth st; Chassi L Belvel, 25, a domestic worker, of 51 S.W. Thirty-fifth st, Kathryn M. Bolte, 21, an officer worker. of Sioux City; Arline Tichenor, 28, a cosmetologist of Davenport; Dorothy Hanft, 23, an office worker of Davenport and Alice C. Barden, 23, of Cedar Rapids.

Other Waacs in training at Des Moines include Elva K. Davenport, Gladys R. Yeaman and Alfreda Zinser. Auxiliaries Kathryn M. Bolte and Irma L. Richardson are stationed at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia and Auxiliary Hazel J. Hofstad is stationed with a Waac aircraft warning service company in Richmond, Virginia.
March was named “Waacruiting month” by Gov. Bourke B. Hickenlooper. The drive will be climaxed here on March 19 and 20, when the Waac recruiting team will visit the city to enlist new members.

3 Iowans in WAAC Officer Graduate Class, Des Moines
Fort Des Moines (AP) -- Three Iowans were graduated with the 34th officer candidate class of the WAAC here today.
The Iowans: Dorothy M. Pownall, Iowa City; Kathryn M. Bolte, Sioux City; and Wanda M. Telford, Waterloo.

Obituary:
Kathryn M. Bolte, 74, of Denver Colo., formerly of Sioux City, died Nov. 26, 1994, at a hospital in Denver after a brief illness.
Service were held at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Denver with burial in Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Miss Bolte was born Nov. 23, 1920, in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School and Briar Cliff College. She was executive director of Catholic Charities in Sioux City for about five years. She moved to Denver and received a master's degree at the University of Denver. She served with the Women's Army Corps for five years. She returned to Denver and was instrumental in starting a Head Start program. She was a professor emeritus of social work for the Graduate School of Denver University.
Miss Bolte was an active member of Notre Dame parish.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy M. Lingren of Denver; two nieces, Mary and Crystal Lindgren and two nephews, Larry and Eric Lindgren.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be given to the Kathryn M. Bolte Endowment Scholarship Fund at Briar Cliff College.
