Jesse C. Wyldes was born Jan. 18, 1916 to Jesse Eugene and Rilla Patterson Wyldes. He died Dec. 14, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the missing at the Epinal American Cemetery, Epinal, Lorraine, France and also has a cenotaph in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
Pvt. Wyldes served in World War II with the U.S. Army--141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division--engaged in the Battle of the Bulge, when he became missing in action. He was later declared dead.
