Don Pearson Woods was born May 18, 1923 to Raymond Arthur and Lorena Maude Pearson Woods. He died Sept. 8, 1944 and is buried in Mitchellville Cemetery, Mitchellville, IA.
Lt. Woods served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 577th Bomb Squadron, 392nd Bomb Group, 8th Air Force and was KIA in France and was awarded the Purple Heart.
