Pfc. Donald F. Wirtz, who at the time of his enlistment lived with his family at 1905 Douglas Street and was manager of the Ace Wallpaper Company here, is a member of the 337th Wolverine regiment on duty in Italy, He was in action on the Gothic line in the 85th Custer division of the Fifth Army. At one time, according to dispatches from the Fifth army headquarters, his regiment dwindled to 18 during a three-day engagement and the inevitable counterattacks, Pfc. Wirtz is a cook’s helper. His wife and child are making their home in Parker, S.D.
