Max Lorraine Whitmore was born July 4, 1925 to Stephen “Steve” and Goldie Marie Hauser Whitmore. He died May 23, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Sgt. Whitmore served in World War II with the U.S. Army 128th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division and died in Luzon, Philippine Islands. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf cluster.
