Francis I. Weigel was born Sept. 26, 1922 to Ernest and Mary Leah McKenna Weigel. He died Feb. 25, 1945 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville, Belgium.
Pvt. Weigel served in World War II with the U.S. Army 242nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Infantry Division. He was KIA in France and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
