Willard E. Ward was born Sept. 6, 1924 to Willard E. and Margaret Helen Van Zee Ward. He died Dec. 11, 1944 and is buried in Chariton Cemetery, Chariton, IA.
Lt. Ward served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/KIA in Germany. He was a co-pilot on a B-17 and was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
