Richard Carlin Van Nostrand, was born April 23, 1924, a Burlington, Iowa. He entered the service on Oct. 5, 1942, at Creston, Iowa. He received his training at Great Lakes, Ill; Treasure Island, San Francisco, Calif.; and Philadelphia, Penn. Richard is a member of the Christian Church. His next of kin are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Van Nostrand of Leon, Iowa. He is in the United States Navy.
