John Merkel Tipton was born May 31, 1920 to Lawrence Delbert and Helen Dolores LIggett Tipton. He died Jan. 28, 1944 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill, NE.
Sgt. Tipton served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 72nd Liaison Squadron and died as the result of injuries in an airplane accident while in the service of his country.
