Richard Tillman was born Sept. 14, 1917 to Walter and Hattie Belle Farr Tillman. He died May 6, 2002 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Rowan, IA.
Cpl. Tillman served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was attached to Co. C, 899th Tank Destroyer Battalion, supporting the 9th Infantry Division. His citations include the African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with one one Silver star and four Bronze battle stars.
