IN UNIFORM
Darwin E. Thornton, a member of an armored medical battalion of the 14th armored division, has been promoted to first lieutenant, according to a release from 14th armored division of the Seventh army in France. His mother, Mrs. E. J. Thornton lives at 1813 16th Street. Lt. Thornton has been serving overseas since October, 1944. Prior to entering the forces, he attended schools in Sioux City and Santa Barbara, Cal.
