Pfc. J. M. Savage

 

Dolores Savage, who resides with Mr. and Mrs. H.T. Peacock, 1120 West Second street, has been accepted by the WAVES and will report for duty at Hunter college, New York City, Sept 9. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Klechner of Fort Dodge.

Miss Savage has been employed by the Feltex Cr. in Rock Island and formerly attended the American Institute of Business in Davenport.

She has two brothers in the armed forces, Pfc. Eugene Savage who is attending a radio school in San Francisco, Calif., and Pvt. Jerrold Savage, who is now serving overseas.

Dolores Savage, yeoman, third class, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kleckner, Ft. Dodge, and Sgt. E.J. Savage of Lynwood, Calif, were home recently on a 24-hour pass, visiting their sister, Mrs. Tom Peacock, 1120 West Second street. The three had not seen each other in eight years.

Miss Savage attended the Hunter college in New York. She is now stationed in the Commander-in-Chief's office in Washington, D.C.

Before enlisting in the navy, she was graduated from the Ft. Dodge high school and also attended A.I.C. in Davenport. She was then employed as secretary to a purchasing agent at the Feltex Corp, in Rock Island.

Another brother Pfc. J.M. Savage, who entered the service, June 1944, was wounded in action in New Guinea. He received his training in Modesto, Calif.
