Cecil I. Staats was born Sept. 20, 1919 to Timothy Samford and May A. Hubbard Staats. He died Jan. 26, 1945 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, IA.
Sgt. Staats served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. L, 381st Infantry and was KIA on Samar Island.
