Francis Wayne “Wayne” Sparks was born Mar. 26, 1915 to Francis Rufus and Elizabeth Dell Giblin Sparks. He died Sept. 13, 1942 and is buried in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly, IA.
Lt. Sparks served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was killed in the service of his country in an airplane crash at Columbia Air Base, Columbia, South Carolina.
