Roy John Shields was born July 9, 1915 to Grover C. and Emma Baetge Shields. He died Feb. 2, 1943 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia.
Sgt. Shields served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. F, 168th Infantry, 34th Division and was KIA in North Africa. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
